ESIC mulls to set up specialty hospital in Hyderabad

The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) will be opening a Zonal Super Specialty Hospital here to cater to the medical needs of its beneficiaries. The proposed 120-bed hospital, to be opened with Rs 92 crore and a recurring cost of Rs 8 crore, would benefit Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The Government of India has already accorded necessary sanction for the hospital. The hospital will come up in the eight acres of vacant land at the present ESI Hospital premises in Sanathnagar here. In addition to this, the corporation had also permitted the upgradation of existing ESI hospitals in Hyderabad (to 500 beds) and Ramachandrapuram (to 100 beds).
